I was promised I could be happy
But I only found cheap thrills and party tricks
And they keep on selling me toys

Chasing Rainbows

Rest my weary soul in thee

Avoiding the Inevitable?

I've stood in the house of tears,
where friends and family grieved
and memories were shared
of a long life lived that I'd not seen
Many gathered to live in the depths

The Best of Life

He had the best of life
Threw it all away
He had the best of life
Snatched from his grasp

We presumed tomorrow
Because we had today
Expected life to go on
Because it did before

Then one day it was gone
Time slipped through our hands
One treasure rusted and burnt
Give account of your things

Wanted another chance at life
Where it'd be different
But you only get one chance
And you settled for less

Elephants

Three blind men walked round an elephant
But my eyes were not shut
They didn't know what was in front of them
But I've seen the promised land
They speculated and agreed to disagree
But no one knew the truth
They used fancy words and clever plans
But remained as ignorant

Until one day that elephant
Did soak them to the skin
Washing the dirt from their eyes
They found what I had seen

Four men walked round an elephant
We all at last could see
But still they fought and complained
Like children in the mud
For many days they examined the view
Bickering as they went
Though they saw everything there was to see
They prefered to be wrong

Some run from here to there
And there to here again

Searching in the darkness
When the lights already on
Keeping asking questions
When you've answers to give

What to do with what done
No need for anything more
He will come and all will see
What will he find in you

What looks impossible from here is easy for you

the skies are so clear

Like a leaderless nation,
On a journey without direction,
Found myself in a vacuum
Spinning out of control

Unaware of what's happened
I'm dazed and confused
Someone said its undeniable
But it just wont compute

Standing alone in the silence
Sickened by the darkness of man
Is there something to reach for
A way that life tomorrow can come
